Amanda is thrilled to be sharing her massage practice at Bonfire Hot Yoga! She is a light-hearted goofball, certified yoga teacher and licensed massage therapist. Amanda completed her 200 HR yoga teacher training course at Pure Yoga NYC in 2014. Teaching yoga and learning from the best teachers in the city catapulted Amanda into her dharma as a practitioner of the healing arts. From there she decided to learn massage therapy and has been building her private practice in Portland/Beaverton OR since February 2017. Her work combines yoga philosophy, western massage techniques and Ayurvedic principles to meet her clients with presence and intention. Her offerings include deep tissue, myofascial release, sports massage, Swedish, intuitive touch, yoga Nidra and yoga therapy. The ultimate principle Amanda lives by (besides laughing loud and often) is that touch and rest together promote profound healing and self-awareness that inevitably result in positive lifestyle choices; known as “The Art of Relaxing”. We don’t need any more forms of hypnotism in our world to bring forth positive change; we need to listen to the wisdom of our own bodies.

My career began in 2005 when I decided to share my love of Pilates with others by teaching it. I discovered a passion for assisting in the health, healing and happiness of my students and soon added yoga instructor to my resume. The focus of my teaching has always centered around functional movement and proper body mechanics with an emphasis on safety and alignment.
In 2015, I was seriously ready to up-level my healing powers and I began the massage therapy program at East West College of the Healing Arts. Through movement, we become aware of our strengths, flexibility, imbalances and restrictions in our bodies. With massage, we release restrictions and increase flexibility and balance in our muscles, while promoting relaxation and energy flow. The foundation of my work lies in being firmly rooted in my purpose in this life and a deep trust in my intuition, and the connection of those two attributes allows the work to flow from my heart. I am skilled in Swedish and deep tissue massage, and trigger point therapy.
The great loves of my life are my two children, Cassidy (16) and Nelson (13); Bill, my husband of 20 years; and the San Francisco Giants!
