Julie Reyes: My career began in 2005 when I decided to share my love of Pilates with others by teaching it. I discovered a passion for assisting in the health, healing and happiness of my students and soon added yoga instructor to my resume. In 2015, I was seriously ready to up-level my healing powers and I began the massage therapy program at East West College of the Healing Arts. Through movement, we become aware of our strengths, flexibility, imbalances and restrictions in our bodies. With massage, we release restrictions and increase flexibility and balance in our muscles, while promoting relaxation and energy flow. The foundation of my work lies in being firmly rooted in my purpose in this life and a deep trust in my intuition, and the connection of those two attributes allows the work to flow from my heart. I am skilled in Swedish and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.
I am also the mother of two children, Cassidy (15) and Nelson (12), and have been married to Bill for many lifetimes (19 years in this one). In my spare time, I love connecting with friends and family, traveling, and the San Francisco Giants and Niners all of the time!
Joshua Lohnes: Joshua likes to tell people he was raised by a family of chimps in the rain forests of Borneo, but the truth is he was born and raised in California within the perfect 1980’s suburban neighborhoods of San Diego. An early love for nature, the ocean and music lead to a lifelong passion towards understanding the nature of self and discovering the wild places still left where a person can find balance amongst the chaos of life.
Prior to becoming a Massage Therapist Joshua spent twenty years as a Quality Assurance Inspector in the high tech and biotechnology industries. While on the outside it would seem massage and mechanical engineering have little in common he has found the knowledge and skills required to build a manufacturing facility are very similar to the anatomy and kinesiology of the human body. We are bio-mechanical beings and understanding how the body moves through space and at rest is crucial to helping people discover ways to find ease of movement and relaxation within the body, mind and spirit.
Joshua graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland Oregon 2011 and has been a full time LMT since 2012. Joshua centers his studies around deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, mayofascial release and spa therapies. Joshua balances his structural work with a deep interest in Chinese medicine, Qi Gong and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi. This creates a well rounded tool box in which each client receives a unique personalized session that benefits the body, mind and spirit creating a deep healing experience.
Outside of his private practice Joshua works with HealthSource Chiropractic Hillsboro as a Massage Therapist and Chiropractic Assistant specializing in work, auto injuries and occupational therapy. Joshua also volunteers as an LMT for Taking Care Portland, a nonprofit community minded cancer survivorship group providing massage, live sound healing and support for families and those dealing with cancer.
Joshua met his wife Melissa when they were 19. They have a 22 year old daughter and 9 year old son. Outside of his massage practice Joshua likes nothing more than spending time with his family, making music, skateboarding, enjoying nature and taking long naps.
